Step  GLOBAL  Study  abroad  Programs

​The world is shrinking and leaders need to have a high level of cultural intelligence (CQ) if they are going to excel.  What started as a dream in Cairo, has now expanded across the Arab World.  We help organizations equip their employees in the areas of language acquisition, cross-cultural coaching and relocation services.  Our clients learn to thrive while living and working in the Arab World.

Language Acquisition:
Speaking and understanding another language opens up new doors of opportunity.  Besides keeping your brain quick and sharp, learning another language helps you to establish deep connections and cross-cultural relationships.  It also helps you to stay humble and allows you to see how other cultures view the world.  Nelson Mandela said it so eloquently, ❝If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.❞

Cultural Intelligence (CQ):
"Cultural intelligence is the capability to function effectively across national, ethnic, and organizational cultures.”(1)  Simply put, our globalized world is becoming smaller and more interconnected.  If you live, act and lead ethnocentrically, then you will not thrive in your chosen field or industry.  Even more simply put, you can’t be culturally ignorant and expect to be a great leader.  Being culturally intelligent gives you the basic tools to interact with all types of cultures without offending them. At the same time, it allows you to glean the best parts of another culture and use them in a way that brings unity and synergy to a holistic, yet diverse, team.  The good news is that cultural intelligence can be learned.  The challenging news is that “ninety percent of leading executives from sixty-eight countries identified cross-cultural leadership as the top management challenge for the next century.”(2)  If you are going to lead effectively in the 21st century, then you need to focus on developing your cultural intelligence.

Authentic Global Leadership:
Servant leaders are first and foremost men and women of character and integrity.  A servant leader is one who cultivates a culture of trust and thinks of others first and not themselves.  They are men and women who develop and empower others as leaders.  They value diverse opinions and do so with a spirit of humility.  We recognize the importance of valuing others and treating them well no matter their social status, religious beliefs, or the level of their education.

Professional Development:
Step Global is committed to developing the whole person.  We believe that quality and excellence should be the result of our hard work and dedication.  It is with this goal in mind that we organize our semester workshops and seminars.  We desire to challenge our developing leaders to be the best they can be.

Team Dynamics:
The demands of today’s world coupled with the quickly changing workplace make it difficult for one person to work successfully on his own. Working in multi-cultural teams has become the norm.   Whether it is team teaching in the high school, entrepreneurs working together to launch a new idea, or a marketing company coming up with the best way to tell the story-- knowing how to work and contribute to a team in a healthy way is a vital skill that every leader needs.

Business / Entrepreneurship:
Step Global believes that empowering entrepreneurship is one of the keys to true transformation.  Entrepreneurship is the ability to turn ideas into actions.   When people are given the skills, freedom and encouragement to solve problems, they usually do.  Step Global aims to equip and empower young leaders to develop the skills and the courage to solve today's problems.

Community Engagement:
As Step Global helps to prepare and empower global leaders, we believe that the best leaders are those who integrate into the community where they live.  Community engagement is the process of working collaboratively with community groups to address issues that impact the well-being of those groups.  We seek to develop leaders who know how to engage and have a positive impact in the local community.
